Yes! We require residents to sign in and out. A 24-hour advance notice is required for overnight trips to ensure necessary medications are ordered for the resident while they are away from the facility.
Yes! Residents provide their own furniture for our Traditional Apartments and our Memory Support apartments. Our Respite rooms are fully furnished and the furnishings are included in the Respite rate.

Lucy Virginia Corr, also known as “Miss Lucy,” is our founder. Her legacy of humanitarian service began during the 1930s, when she politely urged the Virginia General Assembly to change the name of the local public welfare department to the Department of Social Services. Our campus has 25 beautiful cottages that range in size from 1,300 to 1,600 square feet, and both floor plans feature two bedrooms and two bathrooms, some featuring sunrooms and fireplaces. We also have 52 apartments ranging in size from 860 to 1,600 square feet with floor plans that feature one, two, and three-bedroom options.
Our homes are pre-built and designed to fit the needs of seniors. Therefore, the structure of your apartment or cottage cannot be altered. However, we still encourage you to embellish your space so that it feels like “home sweet home”!
Both individuals and couples can enjoy our apartments and cottages. Our cottages feature two bedrooms and two bathrooms, while our apartments range feature one, two, and three-bedroom options.
