Ask Jeremy Armstrong about the Ceca Award he received earlier this spring, and he’ll steer the conversation back to his team almost immediately. That humility is, in part, what earned Lucy Corr’s plant operations supervisor the recognition in the first place.
Through its participation in the national Ceca Award program, Lucy Corr honors clinical and non-clinical team members whose everyday work reflects the organization’s values of care, compassion and kindness. Jeremy’s recognition came through community nominations that highlighted his reliability and team-first mindset.
Jeremy, who will mark three years at Lucy Corr this October, leads a plant operations team responsible for nearly everything that keeps the community running, from heating and air to plumbing and unexpected repairs. Soft-spoken and quick to deflect praise, he measures success by what residents and staff don’t notice.
For example, when a chiller recently needed to be repaired, Jeremy’s team had it back up and running before most people knew anything was wrong. “We try to keep ahead of everything and keep everybody happy,” he said.
For Jeremy, the best part of the job is the people. “I love working with the guys I work with. It makes it nice to come to work,” he said, noting that his once three-person crew is now fully staffed with go-getters who will “do anything and everything.” He is careful to point out that the recognition his department has earned belongs to all of them: “People around you are like, ‘Man, y’all are just doing such a good job.’ It’s really nice to know that people see what we do.”

The award came as a complete surprise. Describing himself as “very shy,” Jeremy said he had no idea he’d been nominated “until they actually told me I got it.”
Since Lucy Corr joined the Ceca Award program in 2025, the quarterly award has become a way to shed light on team members across every corner of the organization. Recognizing someone like Jeremy, whose work happens largely behind the scenes, reflects the program’s core idea that exceptional care depends on everyone who keeps the community running.
